Where we work, and how we meet

An address on a contact page proves little. Code you can read proves more, so the backports that help more than one store will be public, each with a page on our free Magento security patches hub naming only the versions we tested.

Magento developers for California stores

We're a Magento development agency for California stores on Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce, and we've been at it since Magento 1. Our Magento development services page lists builds, upgrades, B2B, ERP integration and support.

Comparing Magento developer agencies in California? Ask each one what it does with a store Adobe has stopped patching. Adobe's monthly security note draws the line: "Open Source merchants can only download patches for version 2.4.7 or later." Our answer is patch now, upgrade later: we harden the store in place, add a backported fix where one exists, and move it to a supported 2.4.x release when your roadmap allows (on Adobe Commerce on Cloud, before Adobe's deadline). For dates by release line, see Magento upgrades.

California privacy law reaches the code. California's Attorney General says Global Privacy Control, an opt-out switch in some browsers and extensions, "must be honored by covered businesses as a valid consumer request to stop the sale or sharing of personal information." Adobe's CCPA guide adds the platform half: merchants running Adobe Commerce or Magento Open Source on premise "must implement their own process and script to delete personal information upon request." We build that process and wire the switch into the store's tracking and data sharing. Whether the CCPA covers your business is a question for your lawyer.

Pick your metro

Five pages go deeper on one metro or one platform. In San Diego County, Riverside County or San Bernardino County, this page is your starting point.

What we do for Southern California businesses

Wherever you are in the five counties, you get one senior team and all five services:

  • Build & Replatform. Magento and Adobe Commerce (Hyvä included), Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce and headless Next.js, plus migrations that map every old URL. Tens of thousands of redirects mapped for a zero-downtime replatform.
  • Integrate & Automate. NetSuite and other ERPs, punchout and EDI, Amazon and eBay, shipping, tax and payments.
  • Grow. Technical SEO for large catalogs, visibility in AI search, analytics and attribution. Organic lead volume up sharply after a technical SEO and content rebuild.
  • Secure & Speed. Performance engineering, pen-test remediation, incident response and WAF hardening.
  • AI. Custom MCP servers, AI assistants in the admin and catalog content pipelines.

Who we help: B2B and industrial distributors and manufacturers, merchants on older Magento versions who need patching until they can upgrade, companies outgrowing their agency, and local firms that need a fast site.

Remote for everyone else

Remote is how most of our work runs anyway. A store in another state or country gets the same senior team: plans, estimates and launch notes in writing, the code in your repository, calls on video, and decisions recorded before anyone builds on them. Specialist AI agents draft; senior engineers review every change before it ships. Here's how we work with remote teams, gates included.

Questions about working with us in Southern California

Where are you located?

We don't keep an office, so there's no address to publish. Big Cart Energy serves Orange County and Southern California, remote for everyone else. In the region we meet in person by arrangement; everything else runs on video, in writing and in a shared repository.

Can we meet in person?

Yes, by arrangement, anywhere in Southern California. In-person time goes where a room beats a call: discovery with your operations or ERP people, design sign-off, a launch walkthrough. Between meetings the work runs remotely, and every decision goes in writing, so nothing rests on memory.

Do you work with brands outside Southern California?

Yes, and most of our work is remote already. Brands elsewhere in the US or abroad get the same senior engineers, review and security gates and written plans as a client in the region. Only the meetings change: they run on video, not in person.

Which counties do you serve?

Five: Los Angeles County, Orange County, San Diego County, Riverside County and San Bernardino County. Together they're what we mean by Southern California, and where we meet clients in person, by arrangement. Businesses outside them work with us remotely, with the same team and process.

Do you have Magento developers for Orange County stores?

Yes. Orange County stores get the same senior Magento developers as the rest of the region: Open Source and Adobe Commerce builds, upgrades, B2B, ERP integration and support, including versions Adobe no longer patches. Meetings in the county happen by arrangement; the code work runs remotely.

Can you upgrade a California store to a supported Magento 2 release?

Yes. Adobe's lifecycle policy, updated September 18, 2026, keeps 2.4.7, 2.4.8 and 2.4.9 in standard support, and Adobe's security notes limit regular Open Source patches to 2.4.7 or later. Scope depends on the starting version, extensions, custom code, theme and the server stack (PHP, database, search, cache). We quote after reading the code.

In the room or on a call. Same energy. Send the platform, the version and the problem. A senior engineer answers in writing, and if a meeting would help, we'll set one up.
