Moving to Shopify from another platform

Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce or a custom build: the move starts with the URL list, not the theme. Each old URL is mapped to a destination before cutover, every redirect is tested on the new store, and the site is recrawled after launch. A Shopify store's redirect limit is 100,000, or 20,000,000 on Plus, and one rule catches teams out: "You can redirect only from broken URLs." A redirect from a path that still loads a Shopify page never fires, so we clear those collisions first. Products, customers and orders move with record counts and order totals checked on both stores. Shopify Scripts stopped running on June 30, 2026, taking their discount, shipping and payment rules with them. We list what each Script did, rebuild it as a Shopify Function in a custom app on Plus, or swap in a public app where one does the job, then test on real carts.
