What we do for Los Angeles companies

Companies tend to call a Los Angeles ecommerce agency about one job. The store usually needs several. We take them all:

  • Builds and rebuilds on Shopify, Magento Open Source, Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce or WooCommerce.
  • Replatforms with every old URL redirected, through our ecommerce migration method.
  • ERP integration with NetSuite and other ERPs, marketplaces, shipping, tax and payments.
  • Ecommerce SEO, built in, not bolted on.
  • Security and speed: pen-test remediation, WAF and bot hardening, incident response and Core Web Vitals.
  • AI: catalog and product-data pipelines, read-only assistants in the Magento admin, and custom MCP servers.

Every pillar is on our ecommerce agency services page. Agency output. Boutique team.

Stock still at sea. The Port of Los Angeles has ranked as the Western Hemisphere's No. 1 container port for 26 consecutive years (2000–2025), by its own figures. Importers selling online need rules for stock on the water. Shopify holds incoming inventory back: it "isn't available to sell until it's been received at the location." Selling it sooner means Continue selling when out of stock, with no cap. Magento's backorders are no safer: an Out-of-Stock Threshold of 0 "allows for infinite backorders."

We set caps per product and sync arrival dates from the ERP. On Magento, a native cap needs Inventory Management, which upgrades from 2.1, 2.2 or 2.3 leave disabled by default.

Ecommerce development for Los Angeles stores

We choose the platform last. First we read the catalog, the integrations and the team that will run the store, then recommend one, and if the platform you're on is fine, we say so. The usual tiebreakers are catalog size, B2B pricing, the ERP and who will host and patch it. Timing follows the data: what you migrate usually sets the pace, so the written plan comes after we've read it. Magento and Shopify each have a Los Angeles page:

Two more paths. A headless storefront fits when the theme layer, not the platform, is what's holding the store back, and sometimes fixing the theme gets you there instead. We do headless builds on Next.js with Shopify, Magento or BigCommerce behind them. BigCommerce, WooCommerce and custom stacks get the same team and the same review gates through our ecommerce development services.

Need one Los Angeles ecommerce developer for a backlog rather than a team for a rebuild? Same engineers, smaller scope, and every change still reviewed before it ships.

How to vet an ecommerce agency in Los Angeles

Agency lists tell you who exists, not who to hire. Six questions do, whether it's an ecommerce web agency in Los Angeles, an offshore team or us.

Ecommerce SEO for LA stores

SEO is cheapest before launch. URL structure, faceted navigation, product structured data and the redirect map are all build decisions, and getting the URLs wrong means another round of redirects later. Speed works the same way: web.dev says Core Web Vitals "apply to all web pages, should be measured by all site owners, and will be surfaced across all Google tools," so they belong in the build spec, not a post-launch audit. Organic lead volume up sharply after a technical SEO and content rebuild. Audits, content and AI search visibility are on our ecommerce SEO services page.

Where we are and how we meet

From a kickoff to a cutover rehearsal, the people at the table are the engineers who'll do the work, not a salesperson taking notes.

Otherwise, the project lives where you can read it: tickets, pull requests and written plans, in your own repo. Orange County companies can start with ecommerce web design for Orange County.

Ecommerce questions from Los Angeles companies

How do we choose between Shopify, WooCommerce and Magento?

Start with the catalog and the integrations, not the demo. Shopify suits teams that want hosting and updates handled and can live within its checkout rules. WooCommerce suits stores already on WordPress. Magento suits large or technical catalogs, complex B2B pricing and deep ERP work, with hosting and patching someone has to own unless it runs as Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service.

How much does a custom ecommerce site cost?

The platform decision moves it first: plan, license and app fees, plus hosting and upkeep on self-hosted platforms. Then catalog size, the systems the store must connect to (ERP, PIM, shipping, tax), custom logic, data quality and your team's share of the work. We quote from an audit, never a rate card. Our cost guide shows market figures, with sources.

Can you migrate our existing store to a new platform?

Yes. Magento, Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce stores move to whichever platform fits, with products, customers, orders and content carried across and every old URL redirected. One catch: Shopify says "You can't migrate customer passwords from another online store using a CSV," so we plan every customer's first sign-in before cutover.

Which payment and shipping integrations do you support?

We integrate shipping, tax and payments: carrier rate and label APIs, LTL freight for palletized orders, dimensional packing so the quoted rate matches the box, sales-tax calculation, and payment gateways. We name the providers per project, once we've checked what your platform handles natively and what needs an app or custom code.

Where are you, and can we meet?

Serving Orange County and Southern California, remote for everyone else. We work without an office, which is why no address appears anywhere on this site. Yes, we can meet: LA meetings by arrangement, for example to map requirements with your operations team. Everything else is remote and documented.

We'd hire us. Check anyway. Tell us what you sell, what it runs on and which system you trust least. We'll answer the six questions in writing and say where we'd start.
